American Legion Post 83 General Meeting Minutes May 21st, 2026

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Commander Luke McDonald

Officers Present: Commander Luke McDonald, 1st Vice, John Hampton, Adjutant Harley G. Farley, Finance Officer Philip Highwood, Service Officer Mark Grant, Chaplain Ron Welch, Sgt at Arms Dave Parrish, E-Board at Large Gordon, John Hampton,

General Membership

Absent: 2nd Vice Vacant, E-Board at Large Dan Buckwald, E-Board at Large Gene Huelette.

The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance followed by prayer. There were no meeting minutes from the previous meeting to be reviewed due to elections.

Finance Report – Money in the bank and bills are paid, A new contract and procedure has been drafted and is available for hosting events at the post.

Service Officer Report – None

Historians Report – Keep checking the calendar

Sick Call and Relief – None

SAL Report – None

Auxiliary Report – None

Riders Report – Rhody run is completed, after bills were paid, we made a little profit but more importantly we are in the good graces of the casino, and we gained 2 potential new stops.

Membership: 102%, Auxiliary and SAL also at 100%

Old Business: None

New Business: None

Good of the Order – None

All motions were seconded and passed unanimously.

The next meeting will be on June 18, 2026, 1830 hrs.

There being no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 pm following prayer.
