American Legion Post 83 General Meeting Minutes October 16, 2025

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Commander Will Vollmer.

Officers Present: Commander Will Vollmer, 2nd Vice Brittney Green, Service Officer Arlene Taylor, Historian Hal Fletcher, Finance Officer/Past Commander Philip Highwood, Chaplain Ron Welch, Sgt at Arms Dave Parrish, E-Board at Large John Hampton, Luke McDonald, Kayla Brown.

General Membership Present.

Absent: Adjutant Harley G. Farley, E-Board at Large Jim Riggs, Dan Buckwald

The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance followed by prayer. There were no meeting minutes from the previous meeting to review.

Finance Report - None

Service Officer Report – None

Historians Report – None

Sick Call and Relief – None

SAL Report – None

Auxiliary Report – None

Riders Report - None

Old Business – None

New Business – Flag ceremony at Harris Elementary will be on November 6th and one at Twin Oakes on November 7th.

The flags in the garage and around the post need to be retired, they are overwhelming.

The Annex is not a storage closet, it is a resource for all to use, do not store things in it and clean it as you use it.

Insurance for the Board and employees is being investigated.

Good of the Order – The Stars and Stripes Gala is Friday 10/24 it is sold out.

The employee handbook is currently being updated for employees and members.

The next meeting will be on November 20, 2025, no meetings will be held in December.

There being no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm following prayer.
